Omi

OMI is an ongoing project exploring tools for supporting soil regeneration through fungal networks. In Switzerland, soil ecosystems are increasingly affected by urbanisation, intensive land use, and biodiversity loss, raising new questions about how to restore and maintain living soils in both urban and rural environments.

The project proposes a system combining a device designed to implant mycelium into soil environments with a digital interface that supports its deployment and monitoring. By facilitating the introduction of fungal networks, OMI aims to encourage regenerative soil practices and make ecological restoration tools more accessible.

Currently in the prototyping phase, the project focuses on developing and testing early versions of the device while exploring possible uses in shared gardens, small-scale cultivation spaces, and domestic environments.

OMI

Omi understands the soil in indoor plants and home gardens, helping restore natural balance and support healthier plants. By working with mycelium, a natural network that supports roots, it invites a more mindful connection with the ecosystems we nuture.
