Bureau 1217 turns research into design practice.
Workshops that test ideas collectively.
Research for
strange tools
Bureau 1217 investigates how technological systems shape creative and everyday experience, by building them, teaching them and critically examining them.
These projects serve as research opportunities, allowing the studio to experiment with new tools and methods while enriching its practice through interaction with students and the discussions sparked by teaching.
They result in publications, art installations, workshops, and collaborations in academic and cultural settings.
